The first Mass for the new parish was celebrated in the basement of the R.J. Glass building between on Rt. 220 between Duncansville and Newry on July 7, 1963. Fr. Regis F. Myers, the celebrant continued to hold services in that building until the blessing of the chapel in Duncansville on January 26, 1964.
The property on which the current church was built was purchased for the diocese by Fr. Jeremiah Flynn while he was pastor of St. Patrick's in Newry. The groundbreaking and blessing of the grounds took place on October 23, 1977. The current church was dedicated by Bishop Hogan on June 24, 1979.
